So over the fourth of July (little late on posting, I know!) my wonderful, supportive, amazing family came all the way up to Nome to spend some time with me!
We spent some much needed quality time together and got to see a lot of rural Alaska.
We wasted no time, as soon as they arrived I handed them their complimentary vacation guide with the full schedule of our week together.
The next day I still had to work, but they were able to tour the town and then meet me at the hospital for dinner and a lunch-break tour of the new hospital and long-term care facility.
After I finished up with work for the day we went out exploring the dredges nearby and even tried our hand at Geocache (our first attempt was not successful!)
(Dad was attempting to bird watch)
Everyone also got a good idea of the mosquito situation here!
That wrapped up day 1. It was so great and a much needed blessing to get to see the people I love and have missed so dearly!
Day 2 of our fun-filled week coming soon!
