I admit it, I’m not exactly as they might say trendy. If there’s a cool, new, hip thing, you can bet this girl
knows about it hasn’t even heard of it and may not for another year.
While we’re making confessions… I can also be quite stubborn. “Why would I try it that way? My way has been working just fine and is obviously better…” wrong.
There are so many deep, beautiful, life-changing reasons to remain open-minded. Today we aren’t talking about those. Today we’re talking about selfish reasons to be open to new ideas. And that reason my friends is called smoothies in a bowl.
For a long time I held out. Thinking “smoothies in a bowl, that doesn’t make sense… sure you can add toppings but I could do that to a smoothie poured in a mug or cup” wrong. I don’t know what it is folks, but it’s just different (and of course the goal is to make it thicker as well). Don’t try to figure it out, just do it.
Green Smoothie in a Bowl

- Yield: 1 bowl of goodness (1 Servings)
- Prep: 10 mins
Not quite ice cream, too thick to be a smoothie...
- 1/2 frozen banana
- 1/2 pear
- 1/2 cup spinach
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 tbsp. almond butter
- 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
- 1 tbsp. sugar-free vanilla pudding mix
- Add all ingredients to blender (hardest on bottom) and blend!
- Add any toppings you like (bonus if they are in a design!)
