Day on the town!
So today was our first day off of work at the hospital (work, attending meetings where I want to scream and or fall asleep… one in the same!) anyways – today was our first day off so a few of us interns went exploring!
…well…after we actually got up that is :/ (we weren’t exactly used to staying up past 2am so that took a little bit of extra gumption this morning)
We started the day by finding the coffee shop/bakery/seafood market (everything is a bit of a multi-purpose area here)
A cute little place run by a one-woman-show. I can vouch for her cinnamon rolls! …and the coffee 🙂
It was pretty reasonable prices…for Nome that is. (totally different than reasonable prices for Nebraska that’s for sure!
Speaking of outrageous prices, I went to the grocery store today… let’s play a guessing game! How much do you think I paid for a 1/2 gallon of milk, 6 bananas and 3 peaches?
…I’ll tell you tomorrow!
We then checked out some of the adorable little shops and talked to a few locals about the fun events coming up as well as where the best fishing spots are
One of the shops had all these authentic Russian-imported artwork, jewelry and clothing. They were amazing!
Have a great Sunday everyone! 🙂
